Tea meditation in a Zen Temple, Mount Emei, Sichuan Province

Mount Emei is a beautiful place and famous for her fearless monkeys. The first Buddhist temple in China was built here in Sichuan Province in the 1st century A.D. in the beautiful surroundings of the summit Mount Emei. The addition of other temples turned the site into one of Buddhism's holiest sites. Over the centuries, the cultural treasures grew in number.

Mount Emei is an area of striking scenic beauty. It is also of great spiritual and cultural importance because of its role in the introduction of Buddhism into China. The conscious siting of so many of the cultural monuments, particularly of traditional architecture, within the natural environment makes it a cultural landscape of very high order.

I had one of a life time experience there: I attended a very solemn tea meditation hosted by tea-loving monks here.

The tea ceremony is hosted in one of many temples on Mount Emei. The scenery near the temple is gorgeous.

We also got to stay at the temple, the rooms are clean and nice. Memorable experience.

In our tea travels, you will experience authentic Chinese tea meditations or tea ceremonies just like this.
